IRON OXIDE – Maximum Content (0.20%)

Iron oxide (Fe2O3) is a chemical compound composed of iron and oxygen. It is a component found in different rocks and minerals including limestone.

It is considered as an impurity which causes limestone to exhibit different colours. The chemical compound is commonly available in earthy end of colours like yellow, orange, red, brown or black range.

Reduction in its quantity from lime is necessary in order to increase the product’s sustainability. For this purpose good fluxing limestone should be lower than 0.50% in Iron oxide content, which remains at its maximum of 0.20% in our product.

MAGNESIUM OXIDE – Maximum Content (1.20%)

Magnesium Oxide (MgO) is a white odourless chemical compound which is also known as Magnesia and is found in the standard composition of limestone. Ground limestone contains mostly Calcium Carbonate and generally has less than 1 to 6 percent Magnesium. Its neutralizing value depends on its purity and fineness of grinding.

If Magnesium Oxide (MgO) content is less than 2.0% in the raw limestone, it incorporates into the crystal structure and works like good mineraliser by improving the burnability and formation of C3S and C4AF, and promoting the absorption of free lime.

We maintain its presence in our product at its maximum of 1.20%.
